On Sunday, 7 May 2017, in the evening at 17:40, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 11.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Yaris Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who violated overtaking rules. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
