On Monday, 8 May 2017, in the evening at 19:48, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 20.04), a DAF ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the DAF (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
