On Thursday, 11 May 2017, in the afternoon at 16:03, in Trakų district municipality, Kaliūkščių village, on the local road, a Fiat Panda hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 64-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Fiat (2 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.24‰ blood alcohol). The 23-year-old driver of a MTZ was drunk (1.25‰) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
