On Friday, 26 May 2017, at night at 23:40, in Kauno district municipality, on the Garliava–Pažėrai–Veiveriai regional road (kilometre 4), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Space Wagon and a BMW X3 3.0D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
