On Tuesday, 20 June 2017, in the afternoon at 14:11, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 60.15), a MAN TGA 18.430 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the MAN, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.89‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
