On Saturday, 22 July 2017, at night at 23:35, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 14.97), a BMW hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 48-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience). Both drivers were sober.
