On Tuesday, 8 August 2017, in the evening at 20:33, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Gruzdžiai–Naujoji Akmenė national road (kilometre 34.25), a Saab 9-3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Saab (30 years of driving experience). He was drunk (1.73‰ blood alcohol).
