On Monday, 11 September 2017, at night at around 23:00, in Kalvarijos municipality, Salaperaugio village, on Europos street near No. 16, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Magnum 480.18 registered in Poland and a Fiat Ducato registered in Poland. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Renault (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.68‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
