On Sunday, 17 September 2017, in the morning at 6:23, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 40.02), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra Station Wagon, a Savos Gamybos - and a Ford Galaxy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Opel (37 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.96‰ blood alcohol).
