On Thursday, 21 September 2017, in the evening at 20:30, in Prienų district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with F. Martišiaus street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80, a Volkswagen Passat and a Volvo XC60. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Audi, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.78‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
