On Tuesday, 3 October 2017, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Šarkuvos street near No. 1A, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Ford Fiesta and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (37 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.89‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
