On Friday, 13 October 2017, in the morning at around 10:00, in Kaunas, on V. Krėvės pr. near No. 97, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S40 and a Volkswagen Tiguan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 86-year-old driver of the Volvo (23 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
