On Saturday, 14 October 2017, in the morning at around 6:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 12), a Skoda Superb ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Skoda (27 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
