On Saturday, 28 October 2017, in the evening at 20:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 107.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Ulysse and a BMW 525 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Fiat, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.74‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
