On Saturday, 9 December 2017, in the morning at 10:45, in Utenos district municipality, on the Utena–Kaltanėnai–Švenčionys national road (kilometre 14.62), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford and a Rover 620. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
