On Monday, 11 December 2017, in the evening at 19:30, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 37), an Audi 80 Avant hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 84-year-old driver of the Audi (62 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
