On Friday, 5 January 2018, in the afternoon at 12:30, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street, at the junction with Europos pr., a Toyota Yaris hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Toyota (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
