On Tuesday, 9 January 2018, in the evening at 18:30, in Šiauliai, on Aido street, at the junction with Dainų street, a Honda Civic hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Honda (43 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
