On Tuesday, 23 January 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, Kužių town, on Statybininkų street near No. 7, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant and a KIA Motors Sorento. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi (11 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
