On Thursday, 25 January 2018, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 98.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S60 and a Lexus IS 220. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volvo (16 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. The 27-year-old driver of the Lexus had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
