On Friday, 2 February 2018, in the evening at 17:29, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 6.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
