On Saturday, 3 February 2018, at night at 0:33, in Šilutės district municipality, Vainuto town, on Medžiotojų street, an Audi A3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
