On Friday, 16 February 2018, in the morning at 7:35, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 26.50), a DAF FT XF105 registered in Poland hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the DAF (48 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
