On Sunday, 25 February 2018, in the evening at around 20:00, in Ignalinos district municipality, on the Kirdeikiai–Antalksnė–Šakarva regional road (kilometre 10), a BMW 318 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
