On Saturday, 3 March 2018, in the evening at 21:18, in Zarasų district municipality, Padustėlio village, on Pievų street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 525. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
