On Friday, 16 March 2018, at night at 23:03, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, Leitmargių village, on Leitmargių street, a quad bike hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 20-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of a quad bike, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.04‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 20-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.12‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
