On Saturday, 31 March 2018, in the evening at 20:50, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Kėdainiai–Krekenava–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 29.80), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Laguna and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.71‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
