On Friday, 13 April 2018, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Akmenės district municipality, on the Užventis–Tryškiai–Viekšniai national road (kilometre 36.60), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Renault, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.50‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
