On Wednesday, 2 May 2018, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 178), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Doblo and a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Fiat (29 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
