On Saturday, 12 May 2018, in the evening at 19:40, in Kėdainių district municipality, Vilainių village, on Melioratorių street, at the junction with Konstruktorių street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (3.07‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
