On Wednesday, 16 May 2018, in the morning at 10:29, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 27.90), an Opel Corsa registered in Ukraine rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
