On Tuesday, 5 June 2018, in the evening at 22:50, in Kaunas, on S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno street near No. 50, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and a Piaggio. Two people were injured — the 19-year-old driver of the Piaggio (treated as an outpatient) and a 21-year-old passenger of the Piaggio (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.35‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
