On Monday, 11 June 2018, at night at 23:50, in Plungės district municipality, Didvyčių village, on the Skuodas–Plungė national road (kilometre 45.42), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
