On Tuesday, 24 July 2018, in the morning at 10:41, in Vilnius, on Savanorių pr. near No. 176, a Honda Accord hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Honda (29 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
