On Friday, 27 July 2018, in the afternoon at 14:13, in Utenos district municipality, Utenėlės village, on Aido street, a BMW 520D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.75‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
