On Friday, 3 August 2018, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 28.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGX 18.400 registered in Russia, a Schmitz SKO 24 registered in Russia and a DAF FAR XF 105.460 registered in Russia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the MAN (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
