On Saturday, 4 August 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, Pyplių village, on Piliakalnio street, at the junction with Ąžuolo street, an Audi Q7 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.39‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
