On Sunday, 5 August 2018, in the evening at 20:50, in Kauno district municipality, Pyplių village, on Ąžuolo street, at the junction with Nemuno street, a Peugeot 407 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 9-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Peugeot (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.70‰ blood alcohol).
