On Monday, 13 August 2018, in the afternoon at 14:42, in Rokiškio district municipality, on the Obeliai–Zarinkiškiai–Šapeliai regional road (kilometre 3.10), a Moskvich 2140 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Moskvich (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
