Drunk Opel Astra driver runs off the road in Šarnelės village
On Sunday, 19 August 2018, in the afternoon at 12:23, in Plungės district municipality, Šarnelės village, on Gilijos street, an Opel Astra Station Wagon ran off the road. One person was injured — the 46-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Opel (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.37‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
