On Monday, 20 August 2018, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 33.96), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW, a 2PTS-4, a Taskento TG and a MTZ Belarus 920.1. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. The 17-year-old driver of the MTZ had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
