On Thursday, 30 August 2018, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 71.03), a falling cargo occurred. The accident involved a vehicle and a Mitsubishi Space Wagon. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who violated cargo-transport rules. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
