On Saturday, 29 September 2018, in the evening at 18:35, in Marijampolės municipality, on Vilkaviškio street near No. 2, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi A8 and a BMW 5ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.30‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
