On Thursday, 11 October 2018, in the afternoon at 15:47, in Kelmės district municipality, Targauskių village, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 82), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Belarus and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Belarus, who violated warning-signal usage rules. He was drunk (3.23‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
