On Sunday, 14 October 2018, in the evening at 19:40, in Ignalinos district municipality, on the Ignalina–Didžiasalis national road (kilometre 15), a BMW 316 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the BMW (21 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. She was drunk (1.31‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
