On Saturday, 20 October 2018, in the afternoon at 16:25, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Kudirkos Naumiestis–Kybartai regional road (kilometre 3), a Nissan Almera ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.92‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 26-year-old passenger of the Nissan was drunk (2.36‰). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
