On Tuesday, 23 October 2018, in the morning at 6:23, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Anykščiai–Burbiškis–Rubikiai regional road (kilometre 6.50), a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
