On Wednesday, 24 October 2018, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Šiauliai, on Energetikų street near No. 18, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Avensis and a BMW 535 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Toyota (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
