On Wednesday, 3 October 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. near No. 49, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a Peugeot 407 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 36-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Peugeot (36 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
