On Tuesday, 30 October 2018, in the afternoon at 13:15, in Anykščių district municipality, on Gedimino street near No. 43, at the junction with Vorutos street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW registered in Great Britain and a Nissan Almera. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (18 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.22‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
